Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We started off the new year with the devastating loss of my grandpa Miller who passed away in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. Eric went back to work after being on paternity leave for 2 months with Sofia the first week of January. It has been an adjustment as we all get used to getting up, ready and out the door by 7:00! Ken and Beth have graciously been watching Sofia full time and will continue to do so until the middle of February, which has been such a blessing. Sofia loves visiting with her grandparents every day! We have experienced our first snow this year, so here is a picture of Sofia in her snowsuit thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Evans! We wish you happiness and health in the new year!

Sofia's Tries Sweet Potatoes

Here's a video of Sofia eating sweet potatoes for the first time! First thing other than fruit. So far she has had apples, pears, and prunes.  Zoe (dog) unfortunately kept coming over bumping me wanted to be petted while I was filming.

Sofia's First Bites

Brooke and I have started spoon feeding Sofia a little bit at night which has really helped her sleep a bit longer at night.  She only gets up now about once a night which is good news for us.  This first video is us giving her rice cereal for the first time (taken a couple weeks ago).



She eats it like a champ now once we figured out the right consistency; thick and pasty is the key.  Otherwise she melts down pretty quickly and it's game over.

Last night we decided to give her baby food for the first time.  Her pediatrician recommended staying away from anything that might back her up (like bananas) so prunes it is!  I'll let Brooke change this next diaper...

First Family Christmas Photos

Wow, time flies and we haven't updated the blog in a long time.  Sofia is now four months old and last weekend we had our first family photo shoot.  Sofia was squirming all over and we were having a hard time to get her to sit still, smile, and look at the camera at the same time.  I'm surprised we got as many good photos as we did.  Click the video above to see a little slide show.  If you are able to do so, after clicking play choose to make the video full screen and change the video quality to 1080p (in the lower right-hand corner of the player) to have the best experience.  Enjoy!

I'm Hungry!

Sofia has been home for almost two weeks now, which is just amazing. It feels like just yesterday that we were welcoming her into the world! Other than getting bigger and continuing to amaze us with her cute animated faces, she is also apparently experiencing a major growth spurt! The day Eric went back to work was the day she decided she needed to feed every 2 hours, nights included! Needless to say, we have one tired mama at our house! The doctor said it should only last for a very short period of time, which I'm hoping is the case. I never thought I would look forward to 3 hour blocks of sleep time, but I definitely am :) Eric will put more pictures up this weekend!
