I'm Hungry!

Sofia has been home for almost two weeks now, which is just amazing. It feels like just yesterday that we were welcoming her into the world! Other than getting bigger and continuing to amaze us with her cute animated faces, she is also apparently experiencing a major growth spurt! The day Eric went back to work was the day she decided she needed to feed every 2 hours, nights included! Needless to say, we have one tired mama at our house! The doctor said it should only last for a very short period of time, which I'm hoping is the case. I never thought I would look forward to 3 hour blocks of sleep time, but I definitely am :) Eric will put more pictures up this weekend!

1 week old today

It's hard to imagine that one week ago today, we were holding our baby girl for the first time. She seems to fallen into a fairly consistent sleep routine of waking every 3 hours or so to eat and have her diaper changed. She has also become much more alert during her wake times during the day. You can definitely begin to see a little personality coming through. We took lots of pictures this week, so we will make sure to update the blog with more photos!

First Doctor's Appointment

Sofia had her first doctor's appointment today and she passed with flying colors! Her weight is down to 7 pounds, 2 ounces which is within the normal range of weight loss. Her next appointment will be at 2 weeks with a bit more drama as she has a repeat heal stick, which I am certain she will not like! Here is a picture of Sofia and I waiting to see Dr. Mooney :)

Day 4

So Miss Sofia Jane is 4 days old and is such an incredibly cute baby that is worth every minute of the sleep deprivation :) We are quickly learning what each cry means and what her little movements are trying to tell us. Based on the lungs she has, she is sure to be a singer like her Grandma Jane! Thanks to everyone who has been sending well wishes and prayers. More pictures and updates to come!

Meet Sofia Jane Berglund

Brooke went into her doctor's office last Wednesday for her regular checkup. He noted that her amniotic fluid levels were a little low so he decided it was time for Sofia to come out! Brooke was induced Wednesday afternoon and after a long couple of days Sofia was finally born 7/29 at 5:18 PM. She weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz and was 21 in long. I really thought that she was going to come on my birthday, but I guess Sofia decided she wanted to have a birthday of her own. Brooke and Sofia are both doing great and we plan to return home tomorrow. Click on the picture below for some pictures of Sofia's first day.

Week 37!

We had an interesting Friday last week as we took our first trip to the hospital in anticipation of potentially delivering little Sofia.  I had contractions that were five minutes apart for five hours, but they eventually sent us home as nothing was really happening.  Since then, I've had quite a lot of pressure and several bouts of contractions, so I think we're nearing her due date sooner rather than later.

We have pretty much everything ready to go and I'm just so excited to meet her! I've been stressing about getting everything ready to go and now that it is, she can come :) Hopefully we will have some good news in the next couple of weeks!

35 Week Update

I am 35 weeks today, which is wonderful! I'm still loving being pregnant and keep joking with Eric that I would love to be pregnant forever :)  Over the past week, I have had some very intense contractions including the seven hour stint of contractions that stayed 15 minutes apart. We thought maybe we would be heading to the hospital that night, but after much rest, they subsided. I've had this feeling for a couple of months that she is going to come early, so I'm frantically trying to finish getting everything ready both at work and at home before she makes her arrival! We are both so excited to meet her and can't wait to see what her little personality is going to be :)
